'Oenone' a beautiful timber classic available in Sydney!
Oenone – It’s a big story -She reputedly changed hands in a card game and sailed to Sydney in the late 50’s, she was a well know boat in Rushcutters Bay. Her owner at that point was “Kenny the cockroach”, a very colorful Kings Cross Identity. When Kenny passed away the boat was faithfully restored by Shipwright Bob Tearne for Brendan Hunt. The next owner was Helen Lovett who continued to race her competetively from Mornington, both owners got her into the current beautiful state.
Oenone (pronounced En-own-ee) is an exceptionally beautiful boat, easy to sail, and absolutely perfect as a day sailor or as an authentic classic race yacht. She really the part on all occasions. You could be the custodian of one of the most unique historical yachts in Australia. She is sound, fast and ready to go.
She is well looked after with the new sail cover (2023), antifoul (mid 2023) and with recent re-rigged (2024).
