Classic wooden yacht designed by Maurice Griffiths
Tamaris is a classic wooden yacht designed by Maurice Griffiths. Built in 1949 by F
Masters, she is part of Griffiths celebrated Dream Ship series. Her classic lines, canoe stern, and raised deck
amidships reflects the timeless elegance and practicality that defined his work. She was also featured in
Peter Heaton’s Penguin book ‘Cruising’.
Originally rigged as a masthead cutter, she underwent modifications for enhanced racing performance
under the guidance of naval architect Warwick Hood and the late Cliff Gale. She has been carefully
maintained and raced on a regular basis.
Tamaris is perfectly suited for a family or casual cruiser who appreciates the charm and character of a classic wooden yacht.
