Vicsail has broken another record, listing, selling and handing over a yacht in less than a month.

Listing the Northshore 38, Izzi

Our Sales manager, David Sampson, knows her owners very well. “They are family friends and our kids sail together. Andy was asking me advice on how to get their boat sold and I said we should have it listed at Vicsail”, comments Sampson.

The listing process was very quick and easy. Matt Cumming, from our sales team, organised an inventory with assistance from the owners and her crew. To do so, he went over to inspect the boat, took a set of very professional photos (link to google drive) and made an intro video. We listed her on Vicsail’s website, Boatsales.com and Yachthub. Izzy also featured on our Social Media Channels (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube).

Izzi’s highlights

The yacht presented very well which made the whole process quicker and easy. Furthermore, Vicsail’s approach and guidance on market and pricing were spot on.

Izzi features an immaculate interior that shows little use, in fact the owners believe no one has ever spent a night aboard. Her sails and rigging are near new laminate racing sails.

The sale

The Northshore 38 “Izzi” was hardly online for a week when we received some interest, including the enquiry from Colin and Patrick – her new owners.

They knew exactly what they were looking for and really wanted to get their hands on a Northshore 38. They’d seen and enquired on the boat online. They flew to Sydney to inspect and make sure she was in as good nick as she looked on the photos.

“The buyers didn’t even take her for a sail. They had a look over her and her documents, seated themselves at the CYCA for a beer to have a chat and called me back about two hours later with an offer that was pretty close to the listing price”, remembers Cumming.

The owners agreed to the offer and the deal was done that day.

There was a lot more work to be done though. We organised to have her slipped for her survey. The buyers were back in Melbourne and the sellers busy, so we delivered the boat to Kirribilli, attended the slipping and the survey and even got the sails out on the return journey to save a bit of diesel. It took most of the day but Matt managed to squeeze in a wisdom tooth extraction at lunch time.

Ironically sometimes selling boats is like pulling teeth, but not this one.

Reviews from vendors and buyers

“Many thanks to Matt, Sue and all the team at Vicsail for your professionalism, excellent communication and care in the sale of Izzi”, Helen S. (vendor)

“Great experience… smooth, simple, fast! Well done all from Vicsail!”, Andy S. (vendor)

“I was very happy with our dealings with Matt and your firm. I found Matt to be exceptionally helpful and responsive. Pat and I are based in Melbourne, so logistically buying a boat in Sydney isn’t the easiest, however Vicsail took care of a number of things we needed help with. Seems that you have a good crew there”. Colin N. (buyer)
