A great day was had by all at the Vicsail Cup on the 6th November. After a couple of weeks of rain in Sydney, it seemed we were going to be blessed with a perfect sailing day for the Vicsail Cup…
To make sure you’re involved next year, contact Marcus Ashley-Jones or Brendan Hunt on +61 2 9327 5131 or 1300 VICSAIL for all of your sailing needs!
- It began with blue skies and a champagne breakfast at the CYCA. The best way to start any great day on the water!
- Studying the sailing instructions.
- It was beginning to cloud over as the first race began with a light breeze. The multihull division lined up for the start.
- Owner Tal Harpaz steering his Lagoon 380 ‘Cloudbreak’, took out the first race. He won the start and never looked back.
- Between races a spectacular storm started brewing… giving us the perfect opportunity to enjoy lunch in comfort and shelter on board the multihulls!
- The Vicsail team was on board the recently sold Lagoon 50 ‘Pacific High’. Thoroughly enjoying the break between races while also celebrating Accounts Manager Sue Griffith’s Birthday with lots of bubbles.
- The rain did nothing to dampen the spirits on board ‘Cozy Cat’. As it cleared a second race started in a moderate breeze.
- Here’s ‘Cozy Cat’ picking the right side of the course, they went on to win the second race of the day with superior tactics and sail trim.
- ‘Cozy Cat’ managed to hold onto a slim lead and crossed the finish line just in front of the Vicsail team, ‘Cozy Cat’ taking out the series for 2015.
- The awards… big smiles from Brendan, ‘Cozy Cat’ owner and winner Jacob Van der Eyk and Marcus.
